Courtney Mooney spent two weeks in a artist residency program in Barcelona, photographing the women of Catalonia. Courtney was inspired by Jiwar’s AIR because of their support of Visual Activism and international female artists.
Courtney Mooney was selected as one of the artists to participate in the Climate Arts Summit in Asheville, North Carolina in November 2018. The Asheville Climate Change summit was in line with Courtney Mooneys’ mission as a Maine photographer concerned with the issues of climate change and environmental impact for Maine residents. The conference inspired Courtney to start her newest endeavor with Maine Land Trusts.
Courtney spent the December month in a Artist in Residence in Red Hook Brooklyn. She photographed the community members of Red Hook, specifically Sunny’s Bar, The Red Hook Record Shop, and The Red Hook Community Justice Center. The artist in residence program was in line with her mission as a visual activist.
